These are the delights of the Internet. How else could I hope to have reached another poet who regularly visits the Palm Cemetery in Billy Collins's footsteps. Thanks also for your description of the Palm and letting me know that the names are real. I had wondered about that and felt a little uncertain about the propriety of using the full names.Fawad Zakariya https://www.blogger.com/profile/16008069828182560496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20989892.post-79903627934256321042012-05-28T19:20:50.071-07:002012-05-28T19:20:50.071-07:00I have been walking through the Palm Cemetery for ...I have been walking through the Palm Cemetery for decades before Billy Collins ever got there on his bike. It doesn't look like this photo, though. It has dirt roads, it's very small, and it is completely shaded by bearded oaks and palms, all of which give it a very cozy feel. I checked and he used real names for that poem. He's amazing to think of writing such a poem, and I applaud you for going through your cemetery and looking at it through Billy-Collins-colored glasses.Florida Poetnoreply@blogger.com
